Important: These website Terms are intended to supplement, not replace, any service-specific agreement or legally required documentation provided for a particular pest control treatment.

  • Use the website for unlawful purposes.
  • Submit false or misleading information.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to our systems.
  • Interfere with website operation or security.
  • Upload malicious software or harmful code.
  • Copy or reproduce website content without permission.
  • Misrepresent your identity or relationship with ShieldPoint.

3. Quotes & Estimates

Quotes and estimates may be based on information provided by the customer and conditions reasonably known to ShieldPoint at the time of quotation.

The final price may depend on the type of pest, severity of infestation, property size, treatment requirements, accessibility, required follow-up treatments, materials, equipment, and other conditions.

A quote does not automatically constitute acceptance of a service contract unless expressly stated.

4. Appointments & Property Access

Appointments are subject to availability.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact information, property address, access instructions, and other information reasonably required to provide the service.

If ShieldPoint cannot safely access the property or treatment area, the appointment may need to be postponed or rescheduled.

5. Pest Inspection

A pest inspection is an assessment based on observations reasonably available to the technician at the time of the inspection.

Pest inspections may identify visible evidence or conditions associated with pest activity, but they cannot guarantee that all pest activity, nesting locations, entry points, or concealed conditions will be discovered.

Some pests may remain hidden or become active only under particular environmental conditions.

6. Pest Treatment Services

Pest control treatments are performed according to the agreed service scope, treatment plan, and applicable requirements.

Treatment results may vary depending on:

  • Type of pest.
  • Severity of infestation.
  • Property condition.
  • Access to affected areas.
  • Sanitation conditions.
  • Moisture conditions.
  • Structural conditions.
  • Pest behaviour and biology.
  • Weather and environmental conditions.
  • Customer compliance with preparation instructions.

7. Customer Preparation

Customers must follow all preparation instructions provided by ShieldPoint before treatment.

Depending on the treatment, customers may be required to:

  • Remove or cover food and food-contact items.
  • Secure pets.
  • Vacate designated treatment areas.
  • Remove or protect sensitive belongings.
  • Provide access to treatment areas.
  • Complete required cleaning or preparation.
  • Repair conditions contributing to pest activity.
  • Follow post-treatment instructions.

Failure to follow preparation instructions may reduce treatment effectiveness and may result in the need for additional treatment.

8. Children & Pets

Customers must inform ShieldPoint of pets and other occupants where such information is relevant to safe treatment.

People and pets may be required to remain outside designated treatment areas for a specified period.

Customers are responsible for following all instructions regarding treatment areas and re-entry.

9. Pesticides & Treatment Safety

Where pest control services involve pesticide products, ShieldPoint will use products and methods in accordance with applicable requirements and the instructions applicable to those products.

Customers must follow all safety, preparation, application, and re-entry instructions provided by ShieldPoint.

Safety Notice: Customers should not enter or allow children or pets to enter a treated area until ShieldPoint has provided the applicable re-entry instructions.

10. Treatment Results

Pest control treatment is not a guarantee that pests will never return.

Certain infestations may require multiple treatments, monitoring, sanitation, exclusion, structural repairs, or other measures.

ShieldPoint is not responsible for pest activity caused or maintained by conditions outside our reasonable control.

11. Follow-Up Treatments

Where a follow-up treatment is included in a service plan or written agreement, the applicable terms of that plan will apply.

Additional visits may be recommended or charged where further treatment is required because of infestation severity, customer preparation, property conditions, new pest activity, or other circumstances.

12. Warranty or Guarantee

Any treatment warranty, guarantee, service period, or follow-up commitment offered by ShieldPoint will be described in the applicable written service agreement, quotation, invoice, or treatment documentation.

Unless expressly stated in writing, no guarantee of complete or permanent pest elimination is provided.

A warranty or guarantee may be subject to customer preparation, sanitation, access, exclusion work, property conditions, and other stated requirements.

13. Exclusion & Property Conditions

Pest control treatment may not be fully effective where structural or environmental conditions allow pests to enter or remain on the property.

Customers may be advised to address conditions such as:

  • Openings and cracks.
  • Damaged screens.
  • Moisture problems.
  • Food sources.
  • Waste or sanitation issues.
  • Standing water.
  • Vegetation contacting structures.
  • Other pest entry or harbourage conditions.

14. Cancellation & Rescheduling

Customers should contact ShieldPoint as soon as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

Cancellation or missed-appointment charges, where applicable, will be disclosed in the applicable booking or service terms and will remain subject to applicable law.

ShieldPoint may reschedule services because of weather, safety concerns, emergencies, staffing issues, access problems, equipment issues, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

15. Payment

Payment is due according to the applicable quote, invoice, booking confirmation, or service agreement.

  • Applicable taxes are payable unless expressly included.
  • Additional services may result in additional charges.
  • Payment methods are subject to availability.
  • Any applicable cancellation or missed-appointment fees will be subject to applicable law.

16. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information and cooperating reasonably with ShieldPoint before, during, and after treatment.

Customers must notify ShieldPoint of any relevant property condition, access limitation, known hazard, or other information that may affect safe service delivery.

17. Safety & Right to Refuse Service

ShieldPoint may refuse, postpone, or stop a service where conditions create an unreasonable risk to customers, occupants, pets, employees, contractors, property, or the environment.

This may include unsafe structures, dangerous animals, hazardous substances, inaccessible areas, or other unsafe conditions.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

19. Consumer Protection

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive, exclude, or restrict any statutory consumer rights that apply under applicable Ontario or Canadian law.

Where mandatory consumer protection legislation provides a right or remedy that conflicts with these Terms, the applicable legislation will prevail.

22. Force Majeure

ShieldPoint will not be responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, fire, flood, power failures, government actions, public emergencies, transportation disruptions, supplier failures, equipment failures, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.

Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts or other legally applicable dispute-resolution mechanisms in Ontario, subject to mandatory rights provided by applicable law.

26. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or modified to the extent necessary to make it enforceable where legally permitted.

The remaining provisions will continue in effect.

27. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with any applicable quotation, estimate, booking confirmation, invoice, treatment plan, service agreement, or other written agreement between ShieldPoint and the customer, constitute the applicable agreement concerning the relevant services.

Where a specific written service agreement contains service-specific terms that conflict with these website Terms, the specific written service agreement will control to the extent of the conflict.
